Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She currently competes within the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina Shevchenko who was a former UFC Flyweight titleholder, and UFC other fighter, is her elder sister. Antonina Shevchenko's career in combat sports started as a Muay Thai fighter. Shevchenko debuted on the IFMA World Championship Tournament in 2003. Shevchenko took the title after which she defeated Suzane Mller by unanimous vote. Antonina was able to follow it up, and took home a silver medal in 2007, a bronze award in 2008 and a gold award in 2011, and was the year-end 2016 IFMA Amateur Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia began her professional career with her debut in 2003. She was the winner of at the world championships for light Welterweight at WKC in 2012 and the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships 2016, and the WMC World Championships as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships 2016. Antonina's last fight was in the Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was a unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko recorded her first professional MMA fight in 2002, against Anara bayanova, who was fighting at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan. She took the win via a second round TKO after which she won 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to achieve a record of 3-0. Shevchenko stopped her involvement in MMA so that she could focus on the sport of kickboxing. She made her return to fight Anissa Haddaoui in Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa Haddaoui with the unanimous verdict. She then beat Valerie Domergue, at Phoenix FC 4 in the same decision. She joined the Dana White Contender Series 2018 following her departure from the competition. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina's striking skills were superior and allowed her to TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale, where she faced Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko defeated Roxanne Modafferi via split decision fight following her first bout by a an unanimous decision. Antonina rebounded from her loss to defeat Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the night in this fight. Shevchenko had a win in her first three bouts, but lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski.
